One Day We Will All Be Happy

San Francisco International Arts Festival

Through Jun 3rd

One Day We Will All Be Happy is an English-language adaptation of the award winning Russian play by Yekaterina Vasilieva. Featuring the artists of Teatp Doc, and directed by Vyacheslav “Sava” Chebotar, the monologue play–a confessional monologue of a schoolgirl–is deconstructed into parts for two actors. Produced by the Meyerhold Theatre Center, the play is set in an unnamed provincial city and tells the story of a girl’s difficult relationship with her mother, school, and love life–it is in turn both comic and tragic. The original Russian-language production of One Day We Will Be Happy ran for over three years in Moscow and has toured throughout Russia.

These performances by Teatp Doc are hosted by Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 25 – June 4 exclusively at FMCAC. The Festival features more than 100 performances by over 60 different artists, ensembles and companies. Get discounts on tickets to see multiple shows at the Festival by buying a Festival pass.
