Rory Earnshaw: Contact 49
SFMOMA Artists Gallery
Through Aug 19th
SFMOMA Artists Gallery presents “Contact 49,” an exhibit featuring structure and landscape photographs by Rory Earnshaw at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. For more than 25 years, Earnshaw has captured large-format, black-and-white film photographs of scenes and subjects within and beyond the 49 square miles occupied by the city of San Francisco. His series of images, known as “Contact 49,” documents many natural and man-made aspects of San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area.
The exhibit displays 49 black-and-white film prints from the series, including images of the Market Street corridor, Mission Dolores, the Mission District, Union Square, and many other locales. Earnshaw’s artists book of “Contact 49” photographs is also available for purchase during the exhibit.
The opening reception takes place on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please RSVP for the reception at ArtistsGallery@SFMOMA.org.
