Screening: Ai Weiwei’s Human Flow

Presented By

FOR-SITE Foundation

Mar 8th @ 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

FOR-SITE Foundation and ArtsEd4All present a special free screening of Chinese contemporary artist Ai Weiwei’s incredibly moving 2017 documentary, Human Flow, at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Human Flow (145 minutes) is an epic film journey that tracks the unprecedented displacement of more than 65 million people around the world as they flee their homes to escape famine, climate change catastrophes, and war.

Internationally renowned artist and activist Ai Weiwei has been imprisoned for his views and his art. He created FOR-SITE’s acclaimed exhibit “@Large: Ai Weiwei On Alcatraz.” His Human Flow project captured footage in 23 countries over the course of one year to deliver the desperate and compelling stories of humans migrating across harsh landscapes and seas, being detained at barbed-wire borders, and struggling in overcrowded refugee camps in courageous efforts to find new lives.

Seating is on the rugs of the “Sanctuary” exhibit. Attendees may bring pillows or cushions to sit on.

Free Admission (RSVP required)
