AXA Traveling Art Prize Exhibition

The San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) | Fort Mason Campus is the first stop for the “AXA Art Prize Traveling Exhibition,” which showcases the work of 40 student artists, who are finalists for the AXA Art Prize 2019, at Fort Mason Center For Arts & Culture. The 40 artworks include drawings, paintings, prints, photographs, and other media from artists aged 19 to 27 years old attending 30 schools and residing in three countries and 14 U.S. states.
The AXA Art Prize competition received more than 500 submissions from 130 schools offering graduate and undergraduate art programs. Exhibiting finalist artists include: Aurora Abzug, Charity Baker, Merritt Barnwell, Claire Bowman, Caley Buck, Brooke Catania, Susan M B Chen, Joan Daniel Cordova Rodriguez, Arleene Correa Valencia, Alexandria Couch, Chloe Crawford, Katie Croft, Josie Del Castillo, Michael Loren Diaz, Maria Fragoso, Alex Gerasev, Georgia Hinaris, Lanise Howard, Maggie Hubbard, Ericka Jeffries, Leasho Johnson, Jocelyn Khosla, Jin Lee, Kathryn Mecca, Luisiana Mera, Naomi Nevo Ben Ari, Uzo Njoku, Prinston Nnanna, Jackson O’Brasky, Zoe Papini, Anna Park, Laurel Richardson, Destiny Ryan, Victor Manuel Salinas, Jusun Seo (SFAI student), Lauren Sitarchuk, Andrew Snow, Valerie Suter, Adam Wever-Glen, and Rhealin Wlos.
The private opening reception takes place on Thursday, September 12, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The exhibit is on view Wednesday through Sunday, September 6, 2019 through October 6, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
