“A place where nobody dared to go the love that we came to know. They call it Xanadu”
Xanadu
About: This roller disco musical fantasy may have been passé by the time of its 1980 release, but it has since amassed adorning fans and cult classic status. The film unites Olivia Newton-John, Gene Kelly (in his final onscreen performance), Michael Beck, and the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) in song, dance, and roller skating. Just when Sonny Malone (Beck), a struggling freelance artist, begins giving up on his dreams he meets Kira (John), who inspires him to renew his passions. Unbeknownst to Sonny, she is one of the famed Nine Muses of Olympus. With the help of a washed-up Big Band leader Danny McGuire (Kelly), they embark on a plan to open a real classy roller disco nightclub called Xanadu.
