Nova Goes Below is an adaptation of an original play by YPT alumna Emily Cronan and has broad youth appeal. Nova is fresh and quirky with finely etched, eclectic characters. Nova Goes Below tells the story of a restless girl thrust into navigating between two parallel worlds.
Nova is feeling emotionally adrift working at a robot dog store in the pristine but sterile suburbia of Glenwood Green. After calling a local psychic for advice, Nova is inspired to visit a controversial world “down below.” Traveling between parallel worlds, Nova must unearth lost letters, unravel tangled connections, aid outcasts, and rescue robot dogs.
Nova quickly takes to the ramshackle desert town, meeting various outcasts who escaped from the suburbs to follow their hearts. She also learns about a rare collection of interplanetary lost letters revealing a tangled web of connections between both worlds.
