Visiting Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture
Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture is located along the northern waterfront between Aquatic Park and the Marina Green. With 1.4 million annual visitors attending thousands of annual events, exhibitions and performances, Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture is a vibrant cultural hub located within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Visitors are encouraged to take public transit or other transportation options to campus.
Hours
The main office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except for the following observed holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King's Birthday, Presidents' Day, Juneteenth, July 4, Labor Day, Indigenous People's Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas through New Year's Day. Hours for individual organizations and programs vary.
Directions
The Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture main campus entrance is off Marina Blvd at Buchanan Street. The General’s Residence and Chapel are located in upper Fort Mason, which is accessed by a separate vehicle entrance than the main campus. The entrance for the General's Residence and the Chapel is off Bay Street at Franklin.Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture is served by the following MUNI lines:
28, 30, 30X, 43, and 49.
In addition, Golden Gate Transit stops at the intersection of Lombard and Fillmore Streets.
East Bay
Bay Bridge to Fremont Street Exit; on Fremont (100 yards north) take first right on Howard; left on Embarcadero & go 2 miles; left on Bay, about 2 miles.For Fort Mason Center: Right on Buchanan. Cross Marina Blvd. & sharp right into Fort Mason Center.
For General’s Residence and Chapel: Right on Franklin, into upper Fort Mason. Turn right at stop sign for the General’s Residence or continue straight for the Chapel.
North Bay
Golden Gate Bridge (US 101) to Marina Exit; go 1.5 miles.For Fort Mason Center: Turn left at Buchanan & turn right into Fort Mason Center.
For General’s Residence and Chapel: Turn right onto Laguna St, left onto Bay St, left on Franklin into upper Fort Mason. Turn right at stop sign for the General’s Residence or continue straight for the Chapel.
Peninsula / South Bay
US 101 North to 9th St. Exit; 9th across Market & left on Hayes; right on Franklin; about 2 miles.For Fort Mason Center: Turn left on Bay St, right on Buchanan. Cross Marina Blvd. & sharp right into Fort Mason Center.
For General’s Residence and Chapel: Cross Bay St. into upper Fort Mason. Turn right at stop sign for the General’s Residence or continue straight for the Chapel.
