For Fall 2019, the San Francisco Children’s Art Center (SFCAC) at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture has six Afternoon Weekly Workshops (grades Kindergarten through five, ages five years through 10 years old) to inspire creating, collaborating, and sharing through visual arts. SFCAC also offers fall weekly classes for younger children. SFCAC has split the fall season into two seven-week sessions, which can also be combined into a 14-week session through special discount pricing.

Each week (Tuesday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.) offers wide-ranging explorations of different ideas and materials to inspire art-making. “Painting & Drawing” (September 10-October 22, 2019), “Papermaking & Bookmaking” (September 11-October 23, 2019, “Art & Science (September 12-October 24, 2019), “Photo Explorers” (October 29-December 17, 2019), “Printmaking, Stamps & Stencils (October 30-December 18, 2019), and “Architectural Sculpture” (October 31-December 19, 2019), workshops (1.5 hours per week, $189 for seven weeks or $351 for 14 weeks) offer deep investigations of the challenges and choices found in two- and three-dimensional forms.

The weekly classes for younger kids (22 months to 5 years) meet on weekdays and Saturdays and provide age-appropriate art instruction and activities through “Art Studio I” (ages three years to five years old, Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 1.5-hour classes, $189 for seven weeks or $351 for 14 weeks, $35 drop-in), “Art Studio II” (ages three and a half years old to five years old, Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., two-hour classes, $224 for seven weeks or $416 for 14 weeks, $45 drop-in), “Little Art Makers” (ages 27 months to 36 months old; Wednesday and Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., one-hour classes, $147 for seven weeks or $273 for 14 weeks, $30 drop-in), and “Side By Side” (ages 22 months to 36 months old; Wednesday and Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; one-hour classes, $147 for seven weeks or $273 for 14 weeks, $30 drop-in, for children and adult caregivers).

Prices vary per class and drop-ins for individual class sessions are welcome (one-hour classes $30, 1.5-hour classes $35, two-hour classes $45). Please note that there are no classes during the Thanksgiving week, November 26-30, 2019.
