The Playwrights Foundation presents the 46th Annual Bay Area Playwrights Festival 2024 (BAPF46) with Magic Theatre in the Young Performers Theater, Building D at Fort Mason Center For Arts & Culture. BAPF46 welcomes powerful new voices and stories to explore courageous acts of belonging and unearth hidden truths, illuminating what lies ahead.

The festival features readings by five playwrights selected in a juried process, VIP opening and closing night receptions, an opening night post-show party, a workshop, a BAPF and resident playwrights panel, a theater professionals weekend kick-off party at The Interval At Long Now in Building A, a resident playwright mini-showcase and reception, and a playwrights’ happy hour at Radhaus Alpine Beerhall and Restaurant in Building A. The festival events happen in-person on weekends from April 12 to April 21, 2024 and stream on-demand for free from Monday, May 6, 2024 to Sunday, May 12, 2024. Some events are free, while others cost $10 to $50 per individual event. The All-Access Festival Pass includes admission to all festival readings, panels, and other events over both weekends and costs $250 to $350. The Festival Pass provides access to all 10 festival readings and panels on both weekends and costs $100 to $200. Theater professionals may be eligible for a free Theater Pros Pass for the second weekend — applications are due by Monday, April 15, 2024, 11:59 p.m.
