Start 2018 with a bang — learn how to play a new instrument or improve existing musical skills with Blue Bear School of Music at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Blue Bear’s diverse program includes group classes, adult band workshops, after-school programs, and Little Bears toddler music classes.

Sample what Blue Bear has to offer during Short Seminar week, January 8-11, 2018. These two-hour seminars cover topics such as Jazz guitar style, acoustic slide guitar, songwriting, and vocals for a mere $25 per seminar.

The 11-week group classes begin the week of January 15, 2018 and run through March 29, 2018. Group sessions feature electric, acoustic, rhythm, bass, and lead guitar with classes for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced students. Other group classes cover vocals, ukulele, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, and songwriting, and more, and range from $275 to $400.

The 10-week Adult Band Workshops are available in basic and intermediate levels for rock and blues, acoustic rock, modern rock, and more from January 15, 2018 through March 25, 2018. Band workshops cost $415 and culminate with a live performance by band members at a local club.

Young folks in grades two through 12 can participate in after-school programs starting when school resumes. Classes offer practice in guitar, voice, rock, songwriting, DJing, and more with tuition ranging from $440 to $550 for 10-12 weeks.

Little Bears classes for ages four months to five years old begin January 15, 2018 and run through April 6, 2018. The 45-minute classes take place in the mornings or afternoons, Monday through Friday, and cost $275 for 12 weeks.
