Fort Mason Center For Arts & Culture resident organization California Lawyers For The Arts (CLA) offers online Zoom seminars and phone consultations and has compiled an extensive digital resource guide for the arts community.

Copyright Claims Board (CCB) Information Session” is a free Zoom presentation on Thursday, May 16, 2024, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Presenter Monica McCabe is a Copyright Claims Officer at the U.S. Copyright Office. Co-presenter Whitney Levandusky is a Supervisor Attorney-Advisor for the U.S. Copyright Office Claims Board. Both presenters discuss how the new CCB works and how to use it to resolve disputes in a more affordable way. (Free) Register in advance.

The phone-based “Copyright & Trademark Legal Clinic” happens on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants receive a 20 to 30 minute appointment time to receive a one-on-one consultation with an intellectual property attorney. Register by May 22, 2024 in order to be confirmed in advance at your phone number. ($10 to $20)

Arts & The Environment: Climate Justice & Habitat Loss” takes place via Zoom on Thursday, June 6, 2024, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Joana Tavares, Ph.D., Director of the California Center For Climate Change Education at West Los Angeles College, offers insights on climate justice. Artists Sofia Laçin and Hennessy Christophel, co-founders of Studio Tutto, discuss their approach to using art to address environmental issues and collaborate with communities. ($5 to $20) Register.

CLA also has an active YouTube channel with digital archives of many seminars that can be viewed for free 24 hours per day on a daily basis.
