Embark Gallery’s “Spotlight” exhibit at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture presents the work of Elizabeth Bennett. In addition to printmaking and other more traditional artwork, Bennett explores site-specific and conceptual art installations, many of which are interactive and ephemeral.

Bennett uses parking, street, and highway signs to examine perceived hierarchies in commonly encountered spaces. She has also inserted other seemingly mundane everyday objects into perplexing tableaus that reflect humanity’s search for meaning by imposing order on shared environments, often in arbitrary and confusing ways.

The opening reception takes place on Friday, July 27, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
