Feathers Of Fire: A Persian Epic
Fictionville Studio & Banu Productions
Through Nov 5thRiding on the success of 38 sold out shows, Feathers Of Fire returns to San Francisco. Experience a visually breathtaking, cinematic shadow play about the 10th-century Persian epic, Shanemah (Book of Kings) at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. This action-packed tale follows a magical story of star-crossed lovers, based on Shahnameh, a classic Persian epic legend from the 10th century.
Feathers of Fire is an all-ages adventure created by Hamid Rahmanian, an Iranian-American graphic designer and filmmaker, in collaboration with Larry Reed and San Francisco-based Shadowlight Productions. Rahmanian bases his graphics on visual traditions of the region where Shahnemah originated. Characters with costumes and masks — along with sets and locales — appear as puppets, scenography, and digital animation; all coming to life and performed live on a movie-palace-sized screen.
