Lady Bird

About: In Greta Gerwig’s love letter to her hometown of Sacramento, Immaculate Heart High School student Christine McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) imagines her college future in “a city with culture” on the east coast. She also dubs herself “Lady Bird” as a start on that new life. Standing in her way: her hard working mother Marion McPherson (Laurie Metcalf), a nurse keeping the family afloat while her husband (Tracy Letts) struggles with unemployment. Add in a somewhat neglected best friend (Beanie Feldstein) and the wrong love interest (Timothée Chalamet), and the recipe for a dramatic senior year is complete.
