San Francisco International Arts Festival

May 21st @ 10:00 a.m.

Kate Perry, a writer/performer who is known for her one-woman shows, will lead a two-hour workshop for aspiring monologists and solo performers to learn some of the techniques of the trade in “Page to Stage: The torture and triumph of writing a comic monologue.” She’ll cover topics such as the hook, developing a monologue, comedy as truth and pain, questions to ask yourself, building a character, rewriting, completing the work, rehearsals, and finally the performance.

The workshop is free, but a ticket is required.

This workshop by Kate Perry is hosted by Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 19 – June 5 exclusively at FMCAC. The Festival features over 100 performances by 50 different ensembles, as well as an expansive arts exhibition celebrating 100 years of the Dada Movement.
