Through Nov 4th

Magic Theatre opens its 2018-2019 season with Ashlin Halfnight‘s family drama, The Resting Place, at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. First revealed to Magic audiences at Magic’s 2017 Virgin Play Festival reading series, The Resting Place is a provocative and intensely involving look at an American family trying to survive a major crisis.

Through his new work, Halfnight addresses powerful issues such as familial obligation, guilt, complacency and culpability in wrongdoing, and enabling behavior. The Resting Place poses the dilemma of how families can reconcile their love for a family member despite their painful knowledge of a horrifying transgression.

The 2018-2019 season subscriptions are on sale, ranging from $100 to $350. Individual tickets are also on sale, with prices ranging from $15 to $45 for previews, $25 to $75 for the run of the play, and $100 to $125 for opening night, Wednesday, October 17, 2018, 8:00 p.m. Affordable preview tickets are available for 8:00 p.m. shows, Wednesday through Saturday, October 10-16, 2018; the 2:00 p.m. show on Sunday, October 14, 2018; and 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.
