Making Art 4.0
Scan and Make
Through May 6thDiscover cutting-edge trends in techniques to make art with advanced technologies at Scan and Makes’ “Making Art 4.0” exhibit and contest at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Artists use three-dimensional (3D) printing, CNC milling, laser cutting, robotics, and other techniques to create art that showcases these technologies to a wide audience.
Art viewers vote on the artwork and the maker of the piece with the most votes receives a $3,000 prize. Scan and Make hopes to incite a revolution in the art market that reflects what has happened with digital distribution of music and books and results in a new way to distribute art via digital platforms.
