SOPHIE CALLE: My mother, my cat, my father, in that order
THIS EXHIBIT WAS ON VIEW FROM
JUNE 23, 2017 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 9, 2017
SOPHIE CALLE: My mother, my cat, my father, in that order (2017); explored elements such as loss and absence through Calle’s examination of the death of her mother, father and cat. This exhibit featured works from Calle’s Autobiographies, and was open to the public at Fraenkel Gallery’s FraenkelLAB (1632 Market Street) for two months.
This event took place in tandem with Missing, a thoughtful survey of Calle’s most emblematic projects from the last decade– Rachel Monique, Take Care of Yourself, The Last Image, and Voir la mer–presenting them in a dramatic setting along the San Francisco waterfront.
