Popular playwright John Kolvenbach directs his play, Reel To Reel at Magic Theatre in Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. During the play, Kolvenbach explores the relationship between sound and memory through his story of a 55-year marriage told through recorded conversations, household noises, and arguments.

Kolvenbach weaves the resulting precious sound snippets into an audio collage of love, aging, and death. Popular local actor Will Marchetti, who appeared in Magic’s original 1983 production of Sam Shepard’s Fool For Love, leads the cast of Reel To Reel.
