Right & Left
San Francisco International Arts Festival
Through Jun 3rdChinese choreographer and rising star Gu Jiani presents Right & Left, an intricate shadow dance and a haunting exploration of human love and individual experience. Ominous and beautiful in equal measure, Right & Left is a tribute to symmetry and its dissolution; order and chaos; and complex, off-kilter relationships. View a video excerpt of Right & Left to see Gu Jiani’s compelling projections that mix shadows and light with incredible precision. The June 1 performance is a shared bill with Tabea Martin.
These performances by the Gui Jiani group are hosted by Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 25 – June 4 exclusively at FMCAC. The Festival features more than 100 performances by over 60 different artists, ensembles and companies. Get discounts on tickets to see multiple shows at the Festival by buying a Festival pass.
