Join FOR-SITE Foundation, the Disapora Arts Connection, artists, an author, a choreographer, dancers, musicians, and performers for the third Sanctuary Salon event in the Chapel in Upper Fort Mason at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Thirteen guests, two musical groups, and a dance group offer thoughtful selections of dance, music, performances, and spoken word that resonate with the themes embodied in the “Sanctuary” exhibit.

The evening’s program includes choreographer Miriam Peretz performing “Falak” and “Moments In Time” with the Nava Dance Collective and musicians Moses Sedler (cello) and Amir Abbas (daf / tombak). Contemporary Afghan composer Qais Essar performs with his trio accompanied by Kathak dancer Antara Bhardwaj and multi-instrumentalist Eric Zang.

Eastern European author Tanya Romanov Amochaev previews her new book, Mother Tongue: A Saga of Three Generations of Balkan Women, and plans to present a signed copy to each salon guest. African-American musician Keenan Webster performs on the balaphone, West African drums, flute, and saxophone.
