From The Tower: Andy Warhol Exhibit

The San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) | Fort Mason Campus launches the brilliant new “From The Tower” exhibition series with a stimulating exhibit of 40 polaroid photographs, six black-and-white photographs, and five screen prints donated to the SFAI archives by the Andy Warhol Foundation For The Visual Arts.

Among the subjects of the polaroids are punk pop star Debbie Harry of Blondie fame, movie actor Sylvester Stallone, and hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. Yoko Ono is featured in one of the eight-by-10, black-and-white photographs, and film icon Ingrid Bergman appears as a nun in one of the colorful screen prints.

From the Tower: Andy Warhol” is on view in SFAI’s Main Gallery, February 20, 2019 through March 24, 2019, Wednesday through Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The opening reception takes place on Friday, February 22, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Please RSVP in advance.)
