From The Tower: Collecting Queer Histories

The San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) | Fort Mason Campus continues the brilliant new “From The Tower” exhibition series with a stimulating show, “Collecting Queer Histories,” presenting rare and wonderful photographs and other materials from the SFAI archives. These valuable archive items document amazing stories and situations from the stellar history of LGBTQ communities.

“From the Tower: Collecting Queer Histories” is on view in SFAI’s Main Gallery, October 16, 2019 through November 3, 2019, Wednesday through Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. A special reception takes place on Friday, November 1, 2019, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Please RSVP in advance.) Preceding the reception, local LGBTQ experts present “Artistic, Colorful & Unconventional: A Visual Tour Of SFAI’s Queer History,” from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019 in the Scully Gray Box Gallery.
