Charlie Levin

San Francisco International Arts Festival 2018

Presented By

Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture & SFIAF

Through Jun 3rd

Action painting artist Charlie Levin delivers an interactive painting performance with The One Truthiness at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. A painting comes to life as audience members read texts out loud in the performance space. Levin stands behind a large sheet of clear glass and uses hot wax to create images that change based on lighting effects. Items read come from interviews, tweets, poetry, and other sources. The painting performances are produced by Lower Bottom Playaz, Oakland, CA’s most enduring North American African theater company.

Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) hosts these performances by Charlie Levin as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 24, 2018 to June 3, 2018 exclusively at FMCAC. The Festival features more than 60 performances by close to 40 different artists, ensembles, and companies. Get discounts on tickets to see multiple shows at the Festival by buying a Festival pass.
