Orchestra Gold With Mariam Diakite

San Francisco International Arts Festival 2018

Presented By

Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture & SFIAF

May 25th @ 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Orchestra Gold with Mariam Diakite perform “oldstyle” Bambaric folk music from Mali at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Orchestra Gold plays big band music from Mali’s post-independence 1960s and 1970s “golden” era.

Folkloric songs are the centerpiece of Orchestra Gold’s performance. Some of the songs originated hundreds of years ago. These songs contain inspiration, wisdom, and insight into the human condition. In the current era of turbulence in the U.S., this wisdom offers a new perspective on modern-day existence.

Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) hosts this performance by Orchestra Gold With Mariam Diakite as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 24, 2018 to June 3, 2018 exclusively at FMCAC. The Festival features more than 60 performances by close to 40 different artists, ensembles, and companies. Get discounts on tickets to see multiple shows at the Festival by buying a Festival pass.
