Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
About: In John Hughes’ love letter to Chicago, Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) plays the perfect day of hooky. Feigning his own illness to ditch high school while rousing his depressed friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) out of bed and into his father’s prized 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder, Ferris proceeds to rescue his girlfriend Sloan (Mia Sara) from First Period and drive the trio into the city. With magical stops at Wrigley Field, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Von Steuben Day parade, danger lurks at home as Principle Rooney (Jeffrey Jones) works overtime to catch the class-dodging Ferris. Add a jealous sister (Jennifer Grey), mysterious mileage on the Ferrari, and a close encounter with Mr. Bueller (Lyman Ward), and the perfect day hangs in the balance!
