Tim Harper: Urban Distraction

Presented By

FMCAC Main Office: Curated by SFMOMA Artists Gallery

Every Weekday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

SFMOMA Artists Gallery presents an exhibit of lively, colorful, map-inspired paintings by local painter Tim Harper in Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture’s office in Building C, Suite 260. The exhibit includes many of the paintings from Harper’s “Urban Distraction” series; a project he started after becoming fascinated with the satellite images of cities he found on Google Earth.

Harper has incorporated paint, collage, and mixed-media elements depicting his favorite cities on large canvases. His lighthearted paintings can be viewed close-up to admire the variety of mixed-media details, or far away to appreciate the overall compositions. Harper seeks to capture the many distractions and attractions found in urban settings around the world.

There is an opening reception on Thursday, February 22, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
