The Mexican Museum and artist-activist organization CultureStr/ke present “Visions From The Inside” at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. “Visions From The Inside” visualizes migrants’ experiences while trapped in U. S. detention centers run by for-profit companies.

CultureStr/ke collects letters and interviews from migrants in detention centers throughout the U.S., including California, New Jersey, New York, Louisiana, Texas, and Washington. Social justice artists have created beautiful illustrations based on the detained migrants’ personal accounts. CultureStr/ke releases one image per weekday on social media such as Facebook and Twitter, and on VisionsFromTheInside.tumblr.com.

The opening reception takes place on Friday, June 16, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
