Wave Forms Exhibit

Presented By

Embark Gallery

Embark Gallery presents “Wave Forms,” a multimedia group exhibit investigating human experiences of water, air, and space, at Fort Mason Center For Arts & Culture. “Wave Forms” features artwork expressing the intangibility of sound and light waves. Interpreting such work involves elements of fluidity and changing perspectives — reflecting objects related to the tides, the planets, and other unseen forces that influence our physical and emotional worlds.

Leila Grothe, a curator at California College of the Arts (CCA), selected the work for this exhibit, which originates with six artists and ranges from paintings, immersive installation art, audio and sonic art, cyanotype prints, and deep-sea GoPro video art captured in the field at various place sin the Atlantic Ocean.

Participating artists are: Laurence Elias (CCA), Shirin Khalatbari (San Francisco State University), Amina Kirby (Mills College), Hannah Mode (Mills), Elena Padrón Martin (San Francisco Art Institute), and Ruxue Zhang (CCA).

The opening reception takes place on Friday, October 26, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
