Duets in The Key Of DADA

San Francisco International Arts Festival

Jun 2nd @ 8:00 p.m.

Channeling the avant-garde spirit of the Dada Movement, David Molina — composer, multi-instrumentalist, instrument inventor — presents “Duets in The Key Of DADA.” The opening numbers will feature electronic musician, and trumpet player Yvette Janine Jackson, with Molina on electric guitar and effects pedals. The second set features Molina on Rusting Souls — a modified, electromagnetic hammered dulcimer — while Jackson loops and manipulates Molina’s performance. And closing out the performance will feature a dup of Molina and avant-spiritual jazz saxophonist Idris Ackamoor, founder of the legendary Pyramids.

This performance by David Molina, Janine Jackson and Idris Ackamoor is hosted by Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 19 – June 5 exclusively at FMCAC. The Festival features over 100 performances by 50 different ensembles, as well as an expansive arts exhibition celebrating 100 years of the Dada Movement.
