San Francisco International Arts Festival

In keeping with an emerging festival tradition, the San Francisco International Arts Festival (SFIAF) presents Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour’s “White Rabbit, Red Rabbit,” a wildly original script he sent to SFIAF when his country denied him a passport to participate in a previous festival because he declined to serve in the military.

A different actor performs the un-rehearsed script each evening, as Soleimanpour originally requested. Each actor’s performance benefits a different theater group:

These performances are hosted by Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 19 – June 6 exclusively at FMCAC. The Festival features more than 100 performances by 50 different ensembles, as well as an expansive arts exhibition celebrating 100 years of the Dada Movement.
