Wataru Kitao Of Baobob
San Francisco International Arts Festival 2018
Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture & SFIAF
Through Jun 3rdWataru Kitao Of Baobob performs Laughing Frame, one of Baobob’s signature pieces, at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. In choreographing Laughing Frame, Kitao’s approach involves illustrating dance as an image within a picture frame. Different frames suggest different dance styles / genres. The dancers appear to be trapped within the frames and struggle to escape and be free. This performance lasts 30 minutes and is on a shared bill with STEAMROLLER Dance Company.
Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture (FMCAC) hosts these performances by Wataru Kitao Of Baobob as part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival, which runs from May 24, 2018 to June 3, 2018 exclusively at FMCAC. The Festival features more than 60 performances by close to 40 different artists, ensembles, and companies. Get discounts on tickets to see multiple shows at the Festival by buying a Festival pass.
