Film Screening and Sophie Calle Q&A

Presented By

BAMPFA & Ars Citizen

THIS SCREENING HAPPENED ON JUNE 22, 2017.

An “Evening with Sophie Calle” at the UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive featured a screening of No Sex Last Night (1996), a film in which Sophie Calle and Greg Shepard drive across the U.S. in a Cadillac convertible before getting married at a drive-in window in Las Vegas, and Untitled (2012) a self-portrait styled film that includes the purchase of her future gravesite in Bolinas, CA. These films were followed by Q&A between Sophie Calle and Larry Rinder, Director of the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive; at BAMPFA, UC Berkeley (2155 Center Street, Berkeley).

This event happened in tandem with Missing, a thoughtful survey of Calle’s most emblematic projects from the last decade — Rachel Monique, Take Care of Yourself, The Last Image, and Voir la mer — presented in a dramatic setting along the San Francisco waterfront.
